Ketika itu seperti biasa jadwal saya mengajar bahasa inggris di tempat les. Saat itu saya hendak membahas sebuah bahan bacaan tetapi niat itu saya urungkan mengingat conversation yang dilakukan bergulir begitu saja dengan asyiknya. Dan saya pikir waktunya akan mepet jika membahas suatu bacaan. Akhirnya yang kami lakukan hanyak conversation seputar aktivitas yang anak-anak itu lakukan.
I realized at the first time i entered the class, one of my student, Haikal who is from 4th grade elemntary school, drown for reading something. I looked at him. He held a piece of paper and read it with his voice. Though, he tried making his voice lower, i could hear him. really. He read something in Indonesian. I kept ignored him, but at the end i couldn't bear my curiosity about what he read. So i asked him. He kept the paper inside his bag as the first glimpse i looked him (when he realized i paid enough attention about it). But i kept asking him about what the paper was. At the end he gave it to me. He said that it was a story that he made himself. At first i didn't believe it. I asked him again , was it his own creation or he copied it? he repeated it that it was his own creation. I looked at the paper and read the tittle. It's about a fiction story. Then i asked his permission to read it loudly at the class. So his friends could know too about the story. Then he said yes.
I tried to read it each chapter. He made 6 chapters of the story. It was an imagination story of children. Yeah, there were still any wrong words, but it's ok. He was still 4th grade of elementary. I kept reading, i looked at the whole students gave their attention about it. I thought the story was interesting enough. Very full of imagination.
The point is i admire for this kind of children who like to write something. At least he earns something for this kid. Wow, i felt so touching and realized that children have huge potential really. At the end of the class, i recommended him to keep the story. At least don't loose the paper. And i asked him to make a blog. Wow, he was very curios about what blog is. So i ordered to write the direction how to make a blog. He write it on his notebook. So cute.
Yeah itulah, bagus sekali anak SD menghasilkan karya. As adult as teacher as parent as elder, we have to encourage them. They are assets for our future. Keep going Haikal, and i hope other students will do too.
